Let us introduce ourselves
My name is Maja. I am a mature lady horse and I love to eat pumpkins and bananas to death, but I also have guavas once in a while if there is nothing else. Otherwise, I enjoy my retirement, because in the past I worked hard and did a lot of sports. I would love to stand with the others in the kitchen and on the terrace. But the others think I am too big. I don't actually think so!
I don’t run anymore, except when I smell food. I’ll walk through trees while whinnying like evil laughter.
Maja
Jule
My name is Jule and I was born in the far north. When I was little, I romped around a lot in the snow and caught footballs as a goalkeeper. But even in the heat of Panama, playing is my second passion. For this, I look for a two-legged partner and let them throw my favorite stick. Once they start with this, I’ll try my best to never let them stop. My greatest passion, however, is eating, but let's better leave it at that... I love nature, all animals, and above all, children.
Malte and his brothers
My name is Malte. With my three brothers Ole, Finn, and Lasse, I was born three years ago on the farm in the old greenhouse under a pile of wood. Even though we are already big, our mother Emelia still plucks at our fur every morning. But that doesn't matter, because I also like to believe I am still small, so that I can fit on people’s lap. I am a cheerful soul, love to cuddle and to show my big smile. My big brother Ole is the boss; he leads us brothers calmly and with a lot of patience. My brother Finn is the second strongest and often slightly irritable. Then I prefer to leave him alone, because I don't want to get into too much trouble. Although together with my little brother Lasse, we like to provoke the others sometimes, but we also give in quickly. Lasse is clearly the most sensitive of us and is terribly afraid of thunderstorms.
Emelia
I am Emelia. Three years ago, I looked for a new, beautiful home all by myself and ended up on the farm. There I gave birth to my 6 children and raised them. My 4 boys are still here and need me every day, even today after so many years. I mostly like to be with Alexandra all the time. I follow her everywhere and even help her steer the car in the right direction. But Alexandra likes to take trips alone. Although I am a mature mother, I love to cuddle with people, sit on their lap, be their little baby, let myself be petted and caressed, and would even share their bed with them. Shh that only works secretly when they are already asleep. But you won't snitch on me, surely.
Momo
My name is Momo. I was the first real Panamenean to join the three newcomers from Europe 5 years ago. At the beginning, we gave each other a lot of comfort. Sometimes I am a bit wild, that's my German Shepherd part, I like to chase chickens. But above all, I am a loyal soul and very grateful that I became part of the pack so early.
Neo alias Kater
They only call me Kater [male cat] anymore. My name is actually Neo, and as a kitten I joined the journey very early - five years ago - with my brother Morpheus. In the beginning we moved around a lot together, but my brother unfortunately had a terrible accident as a kitten. Perhaps he, unlike me, couldn't cope with the many new environments. I get through everywhere, am strong and agile, and most of all I like to take a walk to the river with my favorite humans or support Alexandra in milking cows. Otherwise I like to sleep a lot and long... yawn…
I am Kali and it feels like I've been on the farm forever since I sneaked as a blind passenger into the pickup truck of George, the previous owner. Admittedly, I am not an easy cat and only let individual favorite humans pet me, and I sometimes bite or scratch them too, because then my cat nature simply overcomes me, out of the blue. And that even though I love being petted. That is why I also live alone in my little temple on the mountain under the high jungle trees and every now and then, out of pure nostalgia, I lie down in the sun on the loading bed of the old pickup truck with which I made my first and probably also last adventurous journey.

Kleiner Kater
I am the little cat. Somehow they couldn't find a name for me when Ricardo dragged me along in a box 4 years ago. That doesn't matter to me, because I feel as snug as a bug in a rug, am always in a good mood, even if the big one sometimes beats me up. But don't tell anyone, I like to tease him sometimes too. Just like the old cat Kali, whom I would so love to have as a wise old friend. Even though as a cat I could slip through the always-open kitchen window, I prefer to have my favorite human hold the door open for me.
I don’t show myself to strangers, they frighten me.
My name is Mathilde. I was born here on the farm a year and a half ago. Together with my little half-brother Fridolin, I share everything: a stable, our sleeping spot, the food… Day in, day out, we run across the farm's meadows together. We are very generous cows and have shared the milk of our mothers, Elsa and Lucera, with our two-legged roommates from the very beginning. We know our way around here on the farm because we are constantly on the move with our two mothers, now here, now there. We love bananas, pumpkins, and papayas just like our friend Maja, and sometimes, when the mood strikes us, we climb over the fence by the house together and enjoy all the delicious leaves and pumpkins in the garden. Our mothers, Elsa and Lucera, are the best mothers you could possibly imagine. They are calm, patient, tender, and little Fridolin can still nurse from his mother even at over a year old.

The chickens and their duck friends
There are quite a lot of us with a healthy appetite. We are sometimes loud, especially our master of the house early in the morning when everyone is still asleep. We are secretive and don't like to show our cards, which is why only a few stories about us leak out to the humans. We also lay our eggs wherever we want and then watch the two-leggers search for unpainted Easter eggs. At night, we like to huddle close together on our perches and rejoice at the first crow of our rooster, because then we know for sure that no coyote has visited our sanctuary during the night. A sturdy fence is our castle and our home.
The humans
Alexandra
I have a strong interest in alternative healing methods and healthy nutrition for both animals and humans, and I try to apply this in practice as much as possible. The animals are my passion and my main focus on the farm. I also handle the processing of milk, fruit, and vegetables. When I have spare time, I enjoy exploring anthroposophy and spiritual topics. I also teach German online on a small scale, as I am a trained Montessori teacher.
Stefan
My passion is the plant world, landscape design, garden architecture, and craftsmanship. I love finding new exotic fruits to plant here. I feel a strong connection to the principles of permaculture and food foresting. I have planted tons of trees, but I’ve also let parts of the land do what it wants and just observe. You’ll find me either in the garden somewhere or around the house building.
Eric
Our finca also includes our gardener, Eric, who is our gem here. He is a vital help to us on the farm. He is joyful and great at throwing lasso. Eric lives in the village and thus also serves as a link to our neighbors. The villagers are very kind and supportive.
Volunteers
We also have volunteers pass by for usually at least a month. This makes our community everchanging and diverse.
